The League of Utah
Writers is a nonprofit organization
dedicated to all writers for the encouragement and improvement of
their writing skills. Members are writers with various interests
at all levels of skill and professionalism, and they meet in local
chapters around the state to write, read, and discuss their
work. They share ideas and expertise on the art of
writing. Special guests may be invited to address chapter
meetings.
Membership benefits

Workshop and Fall Roundup that feature outstanding speakers on all
writing genres.

Lariat, a quarterly newsletter, and a statewide membership
directory, and enjoy special pricing for statewide events and
contests.

are open to the public and new members are always welcome.

All expiration dates
must be brought up to January. Please use the following fee schedule
when calculating your membership fee: Whether you are a new member,
a member in good standing, or if your membership has expired, you
will pay $24 plus $2/per month for the time between when you join
(or renew) and January. For example: If joining in October you would
send $30. If joining in November you would send $28. If joining in
December you would send $26.
However, if you are a current member in good standing (which means
you have not let your membership expire) you can pay as follows: If
you expire in October you can send $6. If you expire in November you
can send $4. I you expire in December you send $2. This would take
your expiration date to January 2010.
Membership directories will not include any 2008 expiration dates.
The new 2009 directory will be mailed to everyone by January.
